Undoubtedly, the Aeromarine series is the most popular and best-selling line in Breitling's entire portfolio. Of course, the Super Avenger deserves most of the credit for this, but the other "avengers" are not to be underestimated. Today we present to your attention a smaller brother (due to its size) of the Super Avenger, namely the Avenger A13380.
Until 2010, the name Skyland was also added to the watch's name, and this model is one of the last representatives of this cult variant.
In itself, this watch can hardly be called small, because with its 45 mm case diameter, massive crown and chronograph pushers, ribbed bezel, and overall "instrument for professionals" aura, it hardly fits such a description.
The detail, the finish, and the overall impression are at Breitling's usual high level – a truly very masculine model. It doesn't have the striking size and "look at me – I'm a Breitling" presence of the Super Avenger or the for Bentley series, nor the recognizability of the Navitimer, but at the same time, it is very cult and extremely attractive. The watch has a black dial with raised Arabic numerals, very suitable for the model, and the hour markers and hands are coated with a thick layer of Super-LumiNova, which glows brightly and for a long time.
For us, the bezel is one of the most impressive on the market – frankly, we regret that Breitling decided to change its design a few years ago, and in most "instrumental" series, it is now different. The only consolation is that on the Avenger and Super Avenger it has not been changed so drastically – unidirectional, with 120 clear and distinct clicks and a diver's "pip" at 12 o'clock.
The crown is another accent that we really like in this series – massive, knurled, with a large embossed brand "B", easy to use even with gloves, and the guards on both its sides and the massive chronograph pushers complete the overall feeling of robustness and reliability.
The movement is the well-known "workhorse" Valjoux 7750 – proven with its excellent performance, relatively easy maintenance, and lack of problems finding parts when needed.
The 300 m water resistance, the COSC-certified chronometer, and the massive three-row bracelet leave no doubt about the model and brand on your wrist and only reinforce the overall impression of this instrument. Holding it in your hands or even just contemplating it, we can easily understand why Breitling uses the slogan "INSTRUMENTS FOR PROFESSIONALS".
