Description
In itself, the Avenger series is relatively new in Breitling's product line, launched only in 2001. Regardless of this, however, it has become very well-liked and sought-after by all admirers of the brand. The presented model is part of the newest series and was launched at the end of last year.
This watch can hardly be called small, because with its 44 mm case size, massive crown and chronograph pushers, classic bezel design, and overall aura of an "instrument for professionals," it hardly fits such a description.
The detail, the finish, and the overall impression are at Breitling's usual high level – it is truly very masculine – it lacks the flagrant size and "look at me – I'm a Breitling" of the SuperAvenger or the for Benley series, nor the recognizability of the Navitimer, but at the same time, it has all the prerequisites to become a cult classic.
The watch has the very modern blue dial with black subdials and elongated hour markers, which, along with the hands, are coated with a thick layer of SuperLuminova that glows very brightly and for a long time. The bezel is probably the most masculine of all offered on the market – frankly, we regret that Breitling made the decision to change its design a few years ago, and in most "instrumental" series it is now very different – the only consolation is that in the Avenger and Super Avenger it has not been changed so drastically – unidirectional with 120 clear and distinct clicks, as well as the signature diver's "dot" at 12 o'clock. The crown is the other accent that we really like in this series – massive, serrated, with a very large embossed "B" of the brand – easy to use even with gloves, and the guards that surround it on both sides and the massive chronograph pushers only complete the overall impression.
Through the transparent case back, one can observe the operation of one of the flagships in the line of Breitling's in-house movements – Calibre B01 (a column-wheel chronograph, over 70 hours of power reserve, and 47 jewels).
The 300 m water resistance, the COSC-certified chronometer, and the massive, solid three-row bracelet leave no doubt about the model and brand on your wrist and only reinforce the overall impression of this instrument. The other innovation in the series is a buckle with the ability for easy and quick size adjustment via an integrated system with a button on the inside.
And to summarize – if you want a cult representative of Breitling, in excellent condition and with a full set, and you haven't gotten a Super Avenger because of its size – this offer is precisely for you
