The watch is a representative of the 2nd generation Chronomaster Open heart, but why exactly has this "open heart" model managed to establish itself and find a worthy place in the Zenith family? There are several reasons for this – first, this way of "cutting out" the dial is undoubtedly the most successful, because it shows the operation of the balance and the escape wheel in its full beauty. Second, the relatively classic design of the case – unlike other "plays" by the designers, this series of the brand's "open" watches is the most traditional. And third, the constant improvements that the manufacturer incorporates into each subsequent series of this model. In this particular watch, there are several – the classic shape of the case – with the wavy three-layer bezel, the convex crystal, and the flat chronograph pushers that rise above the case.
As already mentioned, the design of the model is classic and echoes the line of the brand's most successful chronograph – the "36,000 VpH" – the colors are classic and austere, with intricate guilloché and many layers on the dials. The model presented today, however, has a clean dial, which was created using only 2 main colors – black and silver. The hour markers and hands are rhodium-plated, faceted. The 30-minute chronograph counter is positioned at "3 o'clock", and the power reserve indicator is at "6 o'clock". The transparent case back of the watch, made of sapphire crystal, allows us to enjoy the operation of the movement, and it truly shows impressive attention to detail - rhodium plating, chamfered bridges, "Côtes de Genève".
The watch is suitable for both daily wear with smart-casual attire, as well as with a formal suit.
Beneath the clean black dial lies the brand's famous in-house El Primero movement, in this specific case the El Primero 4021 - COSC certified with over 50 hours of power reserve, operating at 36,000 vibrations (or 5 Hertz frequency), only 7.85 mm thin, with 248 components and 39 jewels. And the full splendor of the movement can be observed through the transparent case back of this work of horological art.
