Description
We are pleased to present to your attention a representative of the so-called “Holy Trinity” in the art of watchmaking. And while Patek Philippe has the honor of being the prerogative of the most affluent and established admirers of this art, and Audemars Piguet has the role of satisfying the pursuits and desires of the more sporty and "nonchalant" ladies and gentlemen, Vacheron Constantin is undoubtedly afforded the pleasure of satisfying the pursuits of that part of watch lovers who seek the different, the beautiful, and perfection in everything they own.
We have mentioned many times that for us, this brand is one of our most beloved, and we always approach every piece we manage to touch with reverence and hidden excitement. It is no coincidence that today, for the first time, we will have the pleasure of presenting to your attention a representative of its distinctly classic dress line, Traditionnelle – simply, until now, all the watches that have reached us changed ownership very quickly, and we were unable to give them the proper attention. And today's model is very special, as it is the Complete Calendar Open Face introduced in 2022, in the version with a solid white gold case – in our opinion, compared to the rose gold version, this one is much more balanced, classically refined, and more attractive.
In modern watchmaking, it is accepted to classify models that offer a triple calendar (day, date, month) and moon phase indications under the Complete Calendar category – and Vacheron Constantin has a very rich history with such timepieces. In today's model, the manufacturer shows that it follows modern trends in the art and offers a skeletonized dial, which is crafted from sapphire crystal, and thanks to this, everyone can enjoy the operation of the movement, as the bridges, spring, wheels, and its other parts are visible through it. Undoubtedly one of the most interesting features on the dial is the moon phase indication, where the moon phase display is equipped with a translucent sapphire shaped like hills, which partially conceals the photorealistic moon as it disappears from the sky. The iconic display is wonderful not only for its artistic execution but also for its functionality, as it remains accurate to one day every 122 years.
Certainly, in this model, the manufacturer has managed to gather all its centuries-old experience, and this is evident from the entire aesthetic of the watch – classic clean lines, a strict use of two colors, thin and elongated indices, elegant hands, and the crown with the Maltese cross – all of this leaves no doubt as to what kind of watch you are wearing on your wrist. And the fact that the case is crafted from 18-karat white gold makes the whole combination even more interesting.
In the heart of the watch, under the factory index Caliber 2460 QCL/2, "beats" a movement that can boldly be called a work of horological art – with a remarkable height of just 3 mm, 312 parts, 27 jewels, and 40 hours of power reserve, having successfully passed the highest standard of quality in the art of watchmaking, the Hallmark of Geneva. The transparent case back gives us the opportunity to enjoy the finishing of the movement, and the skeletonized rotor with the Maltese cross only reinforces the overall impression.
