Description
Undoubtedly, it is the Speedmaster that has largely made Omega what the brand has been for the last 50 years, and for this reason, it is this model that first comes to mind for every watch enthusiast at the mention of the brand.
We have the pleasure of presenting to your attention a new interpretation of that famous Omega timepiece, to which the brand largely owes its popularity, namely the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch 42 mm 311.30.42.30.01.005. This is the new version of the legend, in which the manufacturer manages to update the model without it being intrusive and without disturbing the classic look. The model is current for the brand, is still offered today, and is the so-called “Hesalite” – the closest to the original of all currently offered models – acrylic crystal, solid case back and of course, with a manual winding movement, a successor to the renowned Lemania.
I am sure that for most of us, the phrase “Omega Speedmaster” first brings to mind this exact design, and it is for this reason that the manufacturer has taken care not to disappoint the brand's admirers, and the external design has not been changed from the original.
As most of you know, two years ago Omega launched the new Speedmaster series on the market, which now have a slightly changed design, different movements, and as a result, all previous models have skyrocketed and their prices have grown and continue to increase.
The Omega Calibre 1861 used in the watch is based on the legendary Lemania 1873 – a manual winding mechanical movement, 18 jewels, 48 hours of power reserve, and operating at 21,600 vibrations. The rhodium-plated finish of the movement provides a luxurious touch, and the “Geneva waves” and engravings elevate it to a much higher level.
The inclusion of a solid case back does not allow us to enjoy this beautiful movement, but in return, it provides the opportunity for the engraving of the legendary seahorse and the inscription “The first watch worn on the moon”, and all of this leaves no doubt as to what exact watch you are wearing on your wrist.
