Description
We are pleased to present to your attention a representative of a brand that has become synonymous with elegance and has given its name to many patents, and even entire designs. Every enthusiast of the art of watchmaking has heard of "Breguet hands," of the "Breguet spring," and is certainly aware of the brand's classic collections: Classique, Tradition, and of course, Marine. In this case, however, we will be talking about a representative of a line from the brand that has become quite famous among fans of aviation watches, and many watch collectors define it as one of the brand's most iconic series. And not just any model, but a representative of the newest and most current series – the Breguet Type XX Chronograph G2057ST/92/3WU.
The history of the “Type XX” can be traced back to the early 1950s, when the brand responded to the needs of the French Air Force for a durable and highly functional chronograph, which Breguet offered in two versions – Aéronavale and Transatlantique – the main difference between the two models being the lack of a date on the first. All watches in the series had a flyback function – very important for the pilots, who were the primary users of the watches.
The presented watch is from the latest XX series by Breguet, launched on the market in 2023 in the contemporary for today's standards case dimensions of 42 mm and a height of 14.1 mm.
The model is inspired by the brand's military Type 20, produced in the 1950s, and features a modernized black dial, luminescent hands, and Arabic markers. The seconds register is at '9 o'clock', the chronograph hour display and the trapezoidal date window are at '6 o'clock', the date is located at '4:30 o'clock', and the 30-minute indicator is at '3 o'clock'. The white Arabic numerals, along with the black dial and steel elements, complement the entire combination very well and reinforce the impression of an expensive, perfect, and elegant instrument.
The movement used is the Breguet Calibre 7281 with 34 jewels and a power reserve of over 60 hours, a chronograph with a flyback function – a big plus is the fact that the case back is skeletonized, which allows us to enjoy the beautifully decorated movement.
The presented version comes with a black leather strap, which contributes to the classy look of the watch and allows for comfort when worn.
